Nothing to report

We are in Plano, TX, with no pictures and nothing to report. Usually I amuse myself taking pictures through the windshield, but the scenery is just what you all think it might be whilst passing through the middle of the US. Great Plains describes it well. In a few days, we should be in Mexico and I'll hope to find something of interest to photograph or comment upon.

The way east

This is what it will look like tomorrow morning as we head east.
The car is nearly packed. It will be good to drop the cats and all of their paraphernalia at our son's in SW Minnesota at the beginning of the trip to Mexico. They take up more room than Kent and I.

The last rose of summer

It's looking frosted around the edges, but it is October in Wyoming, and this is the last rose. Today, Kent cut it back and banked leaves around it. I think we are just about done with the preparation for leaving the house and the garden. There is more deer poop than flowers in the yard now. We'll let the critters take up residence and look forward to warmer climes.
